Blessings be upon those who bring,
not just help, but also hope.
Blessings be upon those who give,
not just service, but also comfort.
Blessings be upon those whose heart
can still feel the pain of others.
Blessings be upon those who,
though weary and tired, can give a smile.
Blessings be upon those whose hands
possess a healing touch.
Blessings be, O Lord, upon the hands
of those who do Your work, here, in this place.
Dedication & Response
Leader: Lord, you have called us to care for those who are hurting,
All: So we give ourselves to you in loving service.
Leader: And you have called us to comfort those who mourn,
All: So we offer our hands and hearts to you this
day.
Leader: Just as you heard the cry of every anguished spirit,
All: May we be sensitive to the needs around us.
Leader: Since we are all your sons and daughters,
All: May we treat others as brothers and sisters.
Leader: You went about doing good and healing all kinds of diseases.
All: May we also through your power, bring healing
to body, mind and spirit.
Leader: And just as your hands were filled with strength and compassion,
All: May our hands also be a blessing to others.
Leader: When the stress of duty wearies us and we can scarcely take
another step,
All: May Your presence find us and give us peace.
Amen.
