Chair:         Maria Flake

Purpose:    The New Member Welcome Committee's mission is to personally welcome each new member and make them aware of Santa Maria del Mar's ministries and organizations to encourage them to become active participants in the parish community.

Process:    New members are welcomed and incorporated into the life of the parish by personal telephone contact; a personal letter with parish information and an opportunity to become involved in parish ministries; by personal contact from a Ministry Chair; by a special invitation to a Welcome Gathering honoring them and offering personal contact with Ministry and Organizational Chairs.

Special Activity: Greet and welcome the congregation prior to Mass as they come into Church.

Meetings: The Committee meets several times a year as needed.

Requirements necessary to become a member are: a desire to serve; a friendly personality; a dedication to the parish and a love of the Christ.
