A Message from our Youth Directors August 2009

Jesus holds this promise to us and what a blessing to have our Catholic Faith. The Gospel readings over these past few weeks have all been about Jesus being the Bread of Life. I am happy to let everyone know Life Teen is coming to Santa Maria del Mar this Fall. Life Teen is such a great Youth Ministry Program and is all about leading teens to Christ through the gift of our Catholic Faith. This fall we will be having all sorts of fun learning, laughing, sharing about Jesus and what a blessing to be apart of such a wonderful parish community. The Core Teams for the Light, The Edge and Life Teen are busy preparing themselves to be with the young people at our parish. We have such a great group this year. We look forward to working with you and growing in friendship and faith. If you are reading this and think you would like to work with the youth, please contact me any time.
Teens!!! Get ready! Our fall semester kick-off is Sunday September 13th at the first ever Life Teen Liturgy at 5pm. We'll then have a quick meal and begin the Office Olympics from 6:30 - 8pm! There will be great prizes like gift cards from your favorite places, T-shirts, and a big jar of Jelly Beans (yeah, that’s a little weird, but come see what it is all about!) We want you and all your friends to feel welcome so come and bring as many teens you know. The teen who brings the most friends will most definitely receive a prize!!! Life Teen is a program where all are welcome so come and join us this year. One last note, those who wish to go on trips with us, you need to get registered as soon as possible. Once you register, we will begin keeping track of your service hours and you will have the possibility to earn scholarships for mission trips, Steubenville Atlanta and Six Flags, and even World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain in 2011! Come sign up and I'll tell you how you can work towards some great life experiences in the summers of 2010 and 2011!!!
