Give It Away Now: Oh Baby!

In 2008, the Life Teen family collected and donated over 450,000 pounds of clothing in our first-ever global Life Night.

In 2009, the Life Teen parishes stocked food pantry shelves everywhere with a global total of 205,000 non-perishable food items.

In 2010, the Life Teen family came together again and with teen spare change raised over $200,000 to build and maintain eighteen wells in Ghana.

In 2011, we ask that our family comes together once again for Give It Away Now: Oh Baby! We invite all our Life Teen and Edge parishes to join together to do this Life Night on the same night – September 25, 2011 and as one family support the most vulnerable in our society: the unborn. Our challenge this year is to collect 150,000 baby items to support local pregnancy resource centers.

What can you do?

Give It Away Now - Thirst for Change

In 2008 SMdM LifeTeen collected clothes for the needy.

In 2009 we collected Canned Goods for the hungry.

In September 2010 we are joining together with LifeTeen all across the world to collect change for the Thirsty!! Bring in your change and all the money will go towards building 4 wells for providing Water in Ghana, Africa.

Come meet Mrs. Kim's sister Stephanie Langham and hear what she has to share!! Stephanie is an adventuresome young lady who has an involved interest in the current status of the environment and the economic and social welfare of worldwide cultures. She has (so far) received an undergraduate degree in biology from Franciscan University. She has spent the last two years in Ghana, Africa to aid the country as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Her experiences in Africa have shown her the worldwide water crisis in a new and intimate light. She will give a powerpoint presentation (about half an hour) on Thirst for Change from a personal and informative point of view, then answer any questions you have.

THIRD Annual Global LifeTeen Night and Food Drive!

Last year SMdM joined with 279 Life Teen parishes around the world collected over 457,742 pounds of clothes for the needy. This year we're doing it again--except it's a canned food drive. Here are the details:

What: Global Life Night – Life Teen and Edge parishes around the world doing the same Life Night and service project called Give It Away Now, The Can It Edition

When: September 26, 2010 - the Sundays closest to the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul.

Goals: 400 parishes participating, 200,000 canned goods
Why: We are a global family, a movement led by the Holy Spirit. As we create an awareness of poverty, hunger and lack of nutrition in our own communities, our global effort joins together us as one body of Christ, allowing us to be his hands and feet in the world.
