WHAT IS IT?

THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR LEGACY SOCIETY is made up of parishioners who have made provisions for the future of  THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR CATHOLIC CHURCH of Flagler Beach, Florida, by making a bequest to it in their last will and testament or living trust.

As you write/revise your will or set up/revise your living trust, name the SANTA MARIA DEL MAR CATHOLIC CHURCH of Flagler Beach, Florida, as a beneficiary in your will or trust. This should be done in consultation with your estate planner or lawyer. Then you notify the parish office in writing that you have done so.  (See attached enrollment form).

There are many possibilities.  It is important that you consider the tax benefits to your other heirs if you are leaving to SANTA MARIA DEL MAR CATHOLIC CHURCH part of your estate. You may leave the SANTA MARIA DEL MAR CATHOLIC CHURCH a specific asset or amount, a remainder after you have named what you want others to have, or a certain percentage of your estate.

THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR CATHOLIC CHURCH is growing very fast, and there are many unanticipated needs that cannot be met by weekly contributions.  The parish is also home to many persons in retirement who want to know how they can leave a legacy once God calls them to eternal life. This is one way to memorialize your love of  THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR CATHOLIC CHURCH, its pastor(s), specific parish programs or members.

The drive for THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR LEGACY SOCIETY starts on the Sunday after Easter, March 30, 2008. The drive lasts six (6) weeks.

The operation of THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR LEGACY SOCIETY starts on Pentecost Sunday, May 11, 2008.  Pentecost is the feast commemorating the founding of the Church.

Members who return their Enrollment Form (attached) by the end of 2008 will have their names engraved as Charter Members on THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR LEGACY SOCIETY plaque to be kept at an appropriate place in the church building.

Living and deceased Members of THE SANTA MARIA DEL MAR LEGACY SOCIETY will be remembered in Masses offered at the church at dates to be determined by the Pastor and announced in the parish Bulletin.
